46% of Kenyans live on less than a dollar a day and most children lack access to basic needs. Four million Kenyans live in slums. This represents 56% of the country's urban populations.

Habitat Kenya supports marginalized and vulnerable groups such as orphans, widows, the elderly, persons living with disability, who are living in dilapidated housing conditions and lack access to water and proper sanitation facilities. In addition to supporting at individual and household levels, Habitat Kenya provides solutions that benefit and impact whole communities such as water and sanitation and energy solutions, construction of schools and other community infrastructure.

Join with volunteers from across Ireland in Kenya next summer. The team will travel and work alongside the local community. Participants will also have a chance to visit and understand more about Habitat’s work in Kenya. Volunteers will:

SEE the reality of housing poverty and learn more about Habitat’s impact

SERVE families and communities in need

SPEAK out for the cause of safe, decent housing when they return home
