Salary: £12.21 p/h | Location: Lisburn, Ballymena, Newry, Newtownards, Belfast, Lisnagelvin | Type: 25 hrs per week (Temporary for 6 months through the JobStart Scheme)

The ReStore Warehousing Trainee will assist with day-to-day operations of Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Opportunities available in ReStore Lisburn, Ballymena, Belfast, Lisnagelvin, Newry and Newtownards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the Donations Collection Team with the loading and unloading of donations
  2. Ensure items collected are labelled and recorded
  3. Sort donated goods including the pricing and barcoding of stock 
  4. Move stock to the shop floor using correct manual handling skills (including equipment use)
  5. Ensure a high standard of presentation, display and merchandising of the stock 
  6. Support with the Kitchen Rescue Programme
  7. Assist with keeping the store clean and tidy and that health & safety regulations are adhered to
  8. Provide excellent customer service to both donors and customers
  9. Attend appropriate training as required. 

 

There may also be an opportunity to engage in Habitat for Humanity's broader work; this could include supporting with schools/youth engagement, practical painting on the House to Home Programme or helping raise the awareness of the organisation at events.

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION 

This role is being recruited through the JobStart scheme and is open to everyone. Please don’t be discouraged if you have never worked in retail or have little experience. Full training and mentoring will be provided. This is an opportunity for you to work as part of a team, to learn new skills that will build your CV, and get experience that you can use in many roles going forward.

Potential candidates should have:

Ability to safely move stock items (up to 25kg)

Positive and flexible approach 

- Good interpersonal skills 

- Willingness to learn 

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
