"Love can build a bridge between your heart and mine. Love can build a bridge Don't you think it's time? Don't you think it's time?"
"Love can build a bridge
between your heart and mine.
Love can build a bridge
Don't you think it's time?
Don't you think it's time?"
On Friday evening the classical music group The Priests performed a special concert in Ballymena in aid of Habitat NI’s Ethiopia partnership.
The concert was organised by the Ballymena Churches Member Forum.
This July, 13 volunteers, representing 6 churches from the Forum, will work beside communities on a Habitat water and sanitation project in Addis Ababa.
The Priests performed a special rendition of ‘Love Can Build a Bridge’.
Speaking during the performance, Fr David Delargy, a Ballymena native, said:
“The Habitat for Humanity team are building a bridge of love between the people of Ballymena and a community in Ethiopia. And the Ballymena Borough Church Members Forum are building bridges here and now in our own Community in Ballymena.”
Jenny Williams, Habitat NI’s Chief Executive, said to attendees in St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland:
“We in Habitat are excited by your team from Ballymena, for the relationships being built here in the town and for all that you will build in Ethiopia. Our prayer is that your journeys will be like ripples which wash over our community, spreading out to those whose lives you touch, sharing the love of God."
The cross community team are supporting Habitat NI’s Ethiopia Partnership, which is recent years has served more than 1,000 families through new homes, healthy stoves and proper access to water and sanitation facilities.
