Celebrating the amazing message of hope that is Easter.
Easter reminds us of how the light literally broke through the darkness, and the gospel of John promises us, that the darkness will not overcome the light. The exciting news is that God does some for his best work when we need hope the most. Think of the darkest moments in your life, and the times you witnessed God doing amazing things. Recall the times the when God has called your name.
At Habitat for Humanity we are blessed at seeing God work around the world bringing hope to families and neighbourhoods every day. We witness people living in unthinkable situations, whose lives are transformed by the power of those who care. Our mission statement reminds us that we’re about not just building homes, but about bringing hope. Easter is the ultimate expression of grace, unmerited favour. As recipients of radical grace, our response must be to share that grace with the world. As Paul says in Galician’s 5-6, “The only thing that counts is faith, expressing itself through love.”
Thank you for believing in hope, for being the hands and feet of the risen Jesus, and for shining light into the darkness. This Easter please continue to help us bring hope to families in need by giving what you can today.
